The Performance 24 is full of wholesome nutritious ingredients that as with our other varieties are 100% complete being totally balanced for maximum nourishment. This variety in the range aims to provide your dog with an extra boost of energy and stamina which is needed in the lead-up to the shooting season. It is important to maintain weight and condition on your dog, especially in the cold winter months when they will be burning body fat to keep warm, out-with any physical activity. Performance 24 has the same higher protein content as the Performance Plus 24 and we have priced this variety to suit all budgets for a premium working dog food.

The main ingredients of beef and oats provide a tasty meat alternative to the chicken varieties in our Chapel Farm premium dog food range. Beef is an excellent source of protein and contains higher levels of protein due to the water weight of the beef being removed. As a slow-release energy source, the oats will help to maintain the dog’s stamina levels during a hard days training, work, or competition. Adding oats to a dog’s diet is a simple way to impart many nutritional benefits. Oats are nutritious, being naturally high in Protein and soluble fibres which help to lower cholesterol. Oats act as a digestive aid to calm the intestinal tract and also contain levels of iron, manganese, zinc, B vitamins, and the anti-tumor compound b-sitosterol. Oats benefit several body organs and systems, including skin, nervous system, stomach, spleen, lungs, and the urinary and reproductive systems.

The added salmon oil includes the benefits described in the Original 20% details including maintenance of your dog’s healthy coat, skin, brain, and bone development, and function. The glucosamine and green-lipped mussel aid joint health and the added milk thistle aids liver health. For general overall wellbeing, we have added marigold to aid digestive function.

We also add seaweed (kelp) which is rich in 37 minerals including high levels of iodine, calcium, iron, potassium, and other vitamins especially those from the B family. Seaweed helps maintain the nervous system and immune system and its inflammatory properties are not only beneficial for skin health but for the skeleton too. Kelp is especially good for dogs that suffer from skin problems, itchy skin, excessive moulting, cracked claws and dandruff. It helps keep a healthy balance within the immune system and the overall condition of the dog, especially over the winter months as a general tonic.

We would recommend feeding the Chapel Farm Performance 24% variety as middle of the range totally balanced diet that will fulfill all dietary requirements of a working dog. This variety provides higher protein content than the Original 20% and gives your dog that extra energy boost for physical endurance, especially in the colder weather when energy is utilised in regulating and maintaining body temperature.
